About the Foundation

A foundation built on care, community, and commitment.

We believe no family should have to choose between essential supports for their child. The Korganow Foundation bridges the gap, funding the appointments, sessions, and consultations that make a real difference.

Our Mission

We exist to ensure children with autism can access the professional supports they need to reach their full potential, regardless of their family's financial circumstances.

We provide targeted financial grants to cover services that fall through the cracks of government funding and private insurance: dental appointments that require specialist care, psychology sessions that build resilience and coping skills, and psychiatric consultations that guide medication and treatment planning.

Our Story

The foundation was established by a group of families, clinicians, and advocates who witnessed firsthand how financial barriers prevent children with autism from receiving consistent, quality support. Too many families were forced to pause critical therapies or go without needed appointments simply due to cost.

Named in honour of the Korganow family's legacy of generosity and advocacy, the foundation set out with a simple promise: to remove financial obstacles so that children can simply be children, supported, connected, and given every chance to thrive.

What our grants cover

We take a whole-person approach to every child's care. Grants are assessed individually and can cover a wide range of evidence-based supports, from core clinical services to the broader health needs that shape daily wellbeing.

Our Board

The foundation is guided by experienced professionals who bring deep expertise and genuine care to improving outcomes for children with autism.

Michael Korganow, Chair of the Korganow Foundation

Michael Korganow

Chair

Michael founded the Korganow Foundation after seeing families of children with autism forced into impossible choices: funding one support for their child while other pressing needs went unmet, simply because the money would only stretch so far. A medical professional with over ten years of experience across private and hospital-based settings, he chairs the board and brings a clinician's eye to every funding decision, keeping the foundation grounded in what genuinely helps a child.

Joshua Borja, Board Director of the Korganow Foundation

Joshua Borja

Board Director

Joshua holds a Master of Not-for-Profit and Social Enterprise Management and has spent over eight years working across the healthcare sector, designing and evaluating programs that centre equity, inclusion, and lived experience. Alongside his health career, he brings more than a decade of leadership within LGBTQ+ not-for-profit organisations, where he has championed sustainable funding models, governance reform, and person-centred service design. His dual expertise gives the foundation a strong and inclusive lens, ensuring grants reach and genuinely serve the full diversity of Australian families. Joshua is a steadfast advocate for systems that treat every family with dignity, respect, and care.

Eligibility Criteria

Is your family eligible?

We want to make the application process as clear and simple as possible. Review the five criteria below to understand whether your family may qualify for a Korganow Foundation grant.

If you're a therapist or school-based professional referring a family, please review these criteria before reaching out on their behalf.

Start Your Application
  1. Age of the child

The child must be aged between 5 and 25 years at the time of application.

  2. Formal ASD diagnosis

The child must hold a formal diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) from a registered clinician. This is typically conducted by a paediatrician, psychologist, or psychiatrist, and may involve a multidisciplinary assessment team.

  3. Child's residency and citizenship

The child must live permanently in Australia and be an Australian or New Zealand citizen at the time of application.

  4. Parent or caregiver citizenship

At least one parent or primary caregiver must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen.

  5. Supporting documentation

You'll need to be able to provide supporting documentation, including diagnosis reports, referral letters, service quotes, and proof of residency and citizenship. We collect these securely once we've confirmed we can help, never upfront.

Not sure if you qualify? We encourage you to reach out. The foundation reviews each application on its individual merits, and we're happy to discuss your circumstances before you apply.

How to apply

Review the eligibility criteria

Before applying, make sure your family meets the five eligibility requirements listed above. If you're unsure about anything, please reach out. We're happy to help.

Send us a brief email

Email the foundation at foundation@korganow.com and tell us a little about your child's needs and the support you're seeking. You don't need to share any documents or sensitive details at this stage.

We'll let you know if we can help

A board member reviews your enquiry and replies to let you know whether it's something the foundation can fund. If it isn't, you won't have shared any sensitive information about your child.

Share your documents securely

If we can help, we'll send you a secure, private link to collect the supporting documents we need, and we'll guide you through the rest from there.

A simple way to start

Your privacy matters to us

We know you're sharing sensitive information about your child, and we treat it with the care it deserves. Here's how we look after it.

We only ask for what we need

We collect the minimum information required to assess your application, and nothing beyond that.

No documents by email

When it's time to share supporting documents, we send you a secure, private upload link rather than asking you to email attachments.

Seen only by the board

Your information is held in a restricted, access-controlled space, visible only to the foundation's board, the people assessing your application.

Kept only as long as needed

Once your application has been assessed and any grant administered, we securely delete the information we hold within 90 days of a decision.

Questions about any of this? Just ask, we're always happy to explain. And if it would feel more comfortable, we can arrange to meet you in person to talk it through, wherever you are.
